da imperador bet: It has been an interesting few months for Everton, as they navigate life without Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
da spicy bet: The England international left Merseyside at the end of the campaign and has now gone on to excel at Leeds United, with nine Premier League goals to his name this season.
It has left the Toffees short of numbers up front. Their most experienced option is Beto, but he has just two top-flight goals this season. Young summer signing Thierno Barry is still inexperienced, but has shown great promise, bagging three times in his last four games.
However, they seem to want to add to their stocks and are in the market for a new number nine before the January transfer window slams shut.
Everton eye up experienced centre-forward
There seems to be a clear plan from the higher-ups at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to bring in a new striker this summer.
One player who was linked with a move was Wolverhampton Wanderers star Jorgen Strand Larsen but they are not stopping there.

Indeed, Everton are seemingly prepared to cast the net further afield than the Premier League for a striker. According to a report from Sky Sports on Monday, they have recently ‘enquired’ about signing Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri, after it appeared he would not be joining Juventus.
He had reached an agreement to join the Serie A side but a move fell through over the weekend, leading other parties to come to the table.
This is not going to be straightforward for the Merseysiders, however. The Moroccan striker is also a target for Serie A side Napoli and Spanish side Sevilla, for whom he used to play.
As for a price, the Toffees may have to pay around £21m.
Why En-Nesyri would be an upgrade on Barry
Should the Moroccan striker make the move to the blue half of Merseyside, he would be bringing a lot of experience. The 28-year-old has played and scored in competitions across the continent, including the World Cup, and lifted the Europa League twice.
Now plying his trade in the Turkish top flight, he’s perhaps not lit up the season as you may have expected. En-Nesyri has bagged eight goals in 25 appearances, with seven of those coming in the league.
Yet, the experience he will bring to the Hill Dickinson Stadium could be invaluable. He is very much a plug-and-play type of footballer, ready to go into the side and make an immediate impact. That is something that could benefit Moyes’ side right away, given how much of a struggle it has been for their strikers.
In that sense, En-Nesyri could be seen as a better fit for the Everton side than Barry is currently. This is not to say the Frenchman is not a good player. He has lots of potential, as he’s shown in the last few games.
Barry’s run of three goals in four games will certainly please Toffees supporters. He is getting used to the pace and demands of the Premier League and starting to put up some better goal-scoring numbers, too.
Generally speaking, En-Nesyri’s underlying numbers far exceed those of Barry. For example, he has an expected goal involvement tally of 0.58xGI per 90 minutes, compared to the Frenchman’s tally of 0.28xGI each game.

It is that quality, and the experience he will bring to the club, which makes him arguably a better fit for this side than Barry. En-Nesyri is someone who can slot straight into the starting lineup, and given that he is a “powerful” number nine, according to scout Ben Mattinson, he should be able to adapt to the nature of the Premier League.

A fee of £21m is not too significant in the current market. Signing a player with the quality the Moroccan star will bring to the club could be a huge boost for the Toffees, as they look to become better going forward.
O’Brien upgrade: Everton could see £20m bid accepted to sign "insane" star
