The PCB has announced a contract system for Pakistani domestic teams for the 2011-12 season. All the players named in the 20-man squads for the domestic season have been awarded six-month contracts by the board.”The board has taken the step of giving contracts to all regional teams according to a slab system,” Tauseef Ahmed, the coach of the Hyderabad team, told . “This move means that all regional team players are assured of a monthly salary for six months. It is a good initiative by the board to encourage and offer some financial incentives to [domestic] players.”As per the contracts, the players in each squad are divided into three categories and the board will pay 20,000 Pakistani rupees to five players in the top slab, 15,000 rupees to ten players in the second slab and 10,000 to five players in third. The regional sides are picked by a selection committee comprising the team’s coach and a selector nominated by the PCB, among others.Apart from the contractual salaries, the board has also provided for a match fee of 12,000 and 7000 rupees for the players who make the XIs in Division One and Division Two respectively, a daily allowance of 750 rupees for all members of the squads, and travel and accommodation allowances for the teams.
