Cancelo played a key role in parts of the 2020/2021 campaign, earning praise from Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport (via the Daily Mail) for his versatility and performances in the Champions League.

Bernardo was also a regular for the Sky Blues and attracted his own plaudits, with manager Pep Guardiola stating the tenacious midfield player has a ‘special quality’ (mancity.com).

Now, as per journalist Duncan Castles, Bernardo wants to leave the Etihad Stadium and has two offers – one from Atletico Madrid and the other from Barcelona.

The latter La Liga giants are also chasing Cancelo and propose a possible swap deal – with the Catalans prepared to offer options including Sergi Roberto and Ousmane Dembele.
